went to Berlin on our "visit" travel. Stendal (about 150 km from Berlin), we were greeted in the late evening of Simone, Steffen and her son Danny cordially. Simone Steffen and we had met by chance in Norway, and with them the night when we saw the northern lights, spent. Of course we could also sleep in a bed, which was at the prevailing temperatures quite pleasant. We stayed two nights, watched per day at the garden with chickens, horses, sheep and emu and they were introduced to the art of fishing ejection. Now, should the angler lucky nothing stand in the way ... We were spoiled beyond all measure and have also enjoyed it very much.

Luxembourg
For a longer stay in Germany we had no time and so we went in one piece to Luxembourg city. Luxembourg received us with the first frosty night. The Kondenswasser am Morgen war zu einer Eisschicht gefroren und wir brauchten zum ersten Mal unseren Eisschaber (und das für die Innenseite der Scheiben!) Die Stadt Luxembourg hat uns sehr beeindruckt. Die ursprüngliche Festung wurde zwar geschliffen, aber das Ausmass der Festung ist noch gut sichtbar.

Am nächsten Tag fuhren wir nach Redange, wo uns Christophe, den wir am Saltstraumen met in Norway together with your girlfriend Francoise had immediately took on a tour of Luxembourg. We cruised through the small country and cooked trout for dinner that Christophe had pulled out of the village stream. Again, we enjoyed the comfort of a cozy apartment and the generous hospitality!

We had noticed the bad news of the gasoline shortage in France, we refueled in the country where petrol is cheapest, again full and we were on our way to Versailles. As we saw on the hill suddenly two huge towers that we had to stop and visited Louen and the powerful Cathedrale de Notre Dame.

led this stop us, the GPS almost through the middle of Paris and we could admire in the traffic jam standing the Sacre Coeur. At Versailles, we are almost desperate to find a place to sleep. Meli sighted then luckily in the Rue du Paris only a kilometer from the castle is a Toitoi toilet and we decided right at the three-lane road to sleep.

The next morning, then we plunged into the crowds. The queue at the box office was so long that we did not almost to the visit of the castle. But after a walk through the huge garden, we found the Chateau of Marie-Antoinette another office without a long snake. In Rouen, we made our once a campsite and a rest day before we picked up the next day Marianne and Maurice at the station. In Rouen, we visited the medieval town-hearted, the Cathedral and learned about the history of Jeanne d'Arc who was burned here in 1421 on the old market square.

Together we drove to the Limestone Coast of Normandy to Etretat. Again, we were surprised by the crowds that were here. In Touribüro find a place to stay for Marianne and Maurus, we learned that the French had fall break, and found just a festival. We found three km outside but still a B & B for them. The Falaise d'Aval d'Amont and were still very impressive, and Melissa finally came to her "moules et frites".

Then we drove into the city of concrete, Le Havre. Previously, we visited but the pretty fishing village of Honfleur with its unique wooden church.

Le Havre was after the World War II, bombed so much that planned by the architect Auguste Perret and his team the whole city and his new style of prefabricated buildings rebuilt. Despite prefabricated buildings, the city was far away from the dreariness prefabricated buildings, which are known from Russia. Especially the church we liked well, something we have not seen the whole trip. We walked around in the UNESCO world cultural heritage of the city and bought then, of course, Calvados and Fleur de Sel.

After saying goodbye to Marianne and Maurus, we visited the "Mont Saint Michel". This time we had on crowds everything right. On a tour of the abbey on the rock off the coast, we learned that two days ago was still the stronghold overrun by tourists.
