Portugal
beach Our tour took us to include in Costa Nova, where we could take pictures of the colorful fishing boats in the only sun that day. The other beaches were deserted and the many apartments and hotels were there, as in ghost towns ...

On the Road to Alcobaça, we made a short stop in Batahla where we once again marveled at a huge, elaborately decorated church from the age of Gothic and Renaissance. Interestingly, there was still unfinished chapels behind the church. They have impressed us the most. Inside the church were a few famous rulers of Portugal in elaborately carved stone coffins.

found in the premises of the Monastery of Santa Maria in Alcobaça instead of just the sweets and liquor trade. We could take our course, and not bought after visiting the church with the tombs of King Dom Pedro and his lover, Ines, the monastery kitchen with huge fireplace and the cloisters of some Portuguese delicacies.

Then it was on the same day to Obidos. We hike around the entire inside white painted village at a dizzying height (no railing) on \u200b\u200bthe walls. For both of us, it was the first time that we could walk around a little village on a city wall and were mightily impressed.

The onward journey to the westernmost point of mainland Europe was a bit influenced by organizational tasks. On the one hand, we had to book our flight to Switzerland and also did our Büssli suddenly not quite. We have in fact already hinted at in the last blog. After we are not on another morning Büssli could start, we drove up to the visit of the Moorish castle at Sintra in a garage. The mechanic said our battery was ok, we However, should the battery charging cable can be replaced in a car electrician. This, however, had closed on Saturday and so we decided to influence the mood of the Büssli not leave and continued with sightseeing. We went on the market (finally again once the market since the Eastern countries) and covered us with fresh vegetables and a one kilo of moules. As we saw in front of a Güggeli stand a huge queue of people, we let it not escape us and we bought minutes after a waiting time of 30. Güggeli also a grilled lunch.
Then it went up the hill to the Moorish castle. She was again quite to our liking: walls around where you can scramble, scenic views and the weather was too. That was with the weather lately (was true for Portugal and then Spain) is such a thing. Although it was drizzling and the sky often with gray skies was overcast, we managed to complete our tour, mostly in the dry.
up to the castle - on the walls.
Sintra from above - The lord of the castle is at home ;-).
Our Büssli then managed just yet until the Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of continental Europe, where the best moules cooked Meli us on our journey. Since the next day Sunday was and the Büssli not leapt, we enjoyed a rest day on Kapp.

Best Moules ...
On Monday, our Büssli, after the two mechanics and everyone in a Mobile (for a total of four) did not continue to be towed on a small truck. After three hours in a car electrician ran our engine back on and the battery-charging cable was replaced in part. We were both very relieved that our trip could continue. Unfortunately we had to miss because of the unwanted day off Lisbon, as the Time was definitely just now. There was still plenty to see and we wanted something in the south before we flew to Switzerland.
Breakdown number 1
The big shock came the next morning but then right after we had booked a flight to Switzerland, the Büssli jumped again not. This time we decided not to organize everything ourselves and used our insurance. The Büssli was thus a second time and it was towed back towards Lisbon and a VW garage. When we got there, of course, was just finished a day and so we came to a night at the hotel.
Breakdown number 2
The next morning (it was a general strike site in Portugal, but the mechanic at the VW garage had to work anyway, since they can be terminated in case of strike) came first, the shock news that the garage does not know anymore and we saw our aircraft already fly without us from Faro to Zurich. An hour later, we just tried to rebook our flights, but still came salvation. It was on a starter relay.
So we took a train from cork oak trees, past the ostrich and sheep farms in the south of the Algarve, where we then Faro for the burial of Raphael's grandfather for three days in the Switzerland served cold.

Spain
Back in the warmer south (10 ° C in contrast to the -4 ° C in Switzerland) it was called then by Portugal to take leave again. On the way to Tarifa, the southernmost city in Europe, we were suddenly in Niebla past a red wall. After the previous experiences we wanted to walls-walls that can not escape, and so we learned a lot about medieval torture instruments and the construction of the Moors.

The road to Tarifa was longer than we thought and our Büssli us wanted to continue talking. In the pouring rain during the passage of Seville suddenly got out of the turn signals. The covered car park at Carrefour was due. Raphael was able to extend the turn signal in the dry and remove the plug from the Verdigris ...
Advent mood in Büssli.
Since there was no progress. The rain left many of the street flood and we had to reverse it or not.
arrived in Tarifa we will briefly before sunset. The southernmost point is on a peninsula (left the Mediterranean, Atlantic right) at the port and at the time was closed by a gate. We decided to stay just outside of Tarifa on the beach and try our luck again the next morning. So we ate overlooking the lights of the 14 km further south past Africa's dinner.

Darf man da rein?

Now we sit for a refreshing hot-cold shower (hot water, cold wind) at 1000 meters above sea level in fairly cool Büssli and write blog. Morning, then Granada and all its Moorish influences on the program.
through the mountains of Andalusia.
